Welcome to the Master's Program Religion, Ethics, and Politics!

We are delighted to welcome you to TU Dortmund University for the winter semester 2026/27! Traditionally, in the first weeks of the semester, the faculty and the student council organize an orientation event for new students.

If you would like to get in touch with other students beforehand, you can join the WhatsApp group for new students. Just send an email with your mobile number to marepol.ht@tu-dortmund.de and our student assistants will get in touch with you soon.

Monday, 28 September, 10:00 a.m. (online, Central European Summer Time)
Digital Schedule Consultation via Zoom with Ghulam Zahra and Ian Singendonk (Marepol Research Assistants). You will receive the link in advance at your university email address. If you do not, please contact marepol.ht@tu-dortmund.de . You are welcome to join us.

Monday, 12 October, 10.00 a.m.–12.00 p.m.
Before the first lecture of the new semester, the Marepol Student Assistants will meet the new students and provide information about the timetable, LSF, BOSS, and more. The event will take place in room (tba) in the building Emil-Figge 50.

Tuesday, 13. October, 2.00-4.00 p.m.: The student assistants will lead a tour of the campus, which ends at Hörsaalgebäude II (Lecture Hall Building II), where the lecture ‘Fundamentals of Political Science’ will then take place.

The faculty welcomes new Marepol students. The dean, the vice dean, the dean of studies, the directors of the institutes, and the lecturers of the MaREPol courses in the winter semester would like to introduce themselves and get to know you. The event will take place in room 4.238 in the building Emil-Figge 50.

Please note: there will be no overlap with the Fundamentals of Protestant Theology seminar. Mr. Heckmann will be present at the welcoming event and then start his seminar in the same room. You can attend both events without missing a thing.

15 October, from 4:00 p.m.: Get-together at the university, possibly followed by a joint visit to the city centre. Room tba.

Under Documents and Guides you can already find a sample schedule for the winter semester and other helpful documents such as the study plan, which gives a good overview of the Marepol courses, and a guide on how to use the course registration portal LSF. A detailed description of course selection is also available in our FAQs

For general information about the start of studies for international students, please visit the Start of studies page of the International Office or discover StartSmart - the game for international first-year students. You can also participate in Come2Campus, a multi-day orientation program for international students who are about to start their studies at TU Dortmund University.  It takes place annually at the beginning of each winter semester.

We wish you a dynamic and thoughtful journey ahead!
