After the breakup of the German coalition led by Social Democratic Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the end of 2024, re-elections were held in February 2025. Under the leadership of Friedrich Merz, the Christian Democrats emerged victorious from the elections and sought a coalition with the Social Democrats afterward. In this webinar, we will look back at the central issues of the electoral campaigns, with a particular focus on the role of religion. Furthermore, we will explore the expectations associated with the new government's agenda concerning religion and other related issues.
